Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are a form of exfoliation with a unique blend of natural acids that are designed to treat specific skin conditions. With our variety of peels, ranging from superficial to deep peels, we can treat aging, pigmentation/sun spots, acne, acne scarring, texture issues, rosacea/redness, and fine lines and wrinkles. Our Master Esthetician will perform an in depth skin analysis to determine which peel better suites your needs.

Chemical Peels

Superficial Peels

We’re proud to offer PCA’s special formulation of superficial peels that penetrate the epidermis of the skin. We offer TCA (trichloracetic acid) blends and the PCA Modified Jessner (hydroquinone free) peels with 14% Lactic Acid (AHA), 14% Salicylic Acid (BHA), and 14% Resorcinol.

Deep Peels

We’re proud to offer the VIPeel, a medium depth peel that penetrates to the Papillary Dermis that is safe for all skin types. The VIPeel contains the active ingredients: 10% Phenol, 3 acids: TCA (Trichloracetic acid), Retinoic acid and Salicylic acid, which work to improve the tone, texture, and clarity of the skin.

Chemical Peels Procedure

Due to the numbing quality of the phenol Dr. Chung offers the VIP phenol peel as virtually pain-free (although certain individuals may feel some mild stinging, which we control with a fan). Another benefit of the peel is that pre-conditioning the skin is not necessary, unlike traditional phenol peels. Hyperpigmentation does not occur with this peel and cardiac monitoring is not necessary.

All of our peels are completed in 20 minutes (not including time for consultation) and recovery usually lasts about a week, with the most peeling occurring on the third or fourth day.

Dr. Chung's Philosophy

Plastic surgery is a very personal decision and can get overwhelming at times to sort through options that are currently available. As a fellowship trained aesthetic plastic surgeon, I have the knowledge and experience to guide patients during this process. My goal is to listen, understand your objectives, and advise you in selecting a procedure that is right for you. As a woman surgeon, I am compassionate, warm, and honest. You will leave educated and confident that the end result will be beautiful and natural, not overdone.

I truly believe that to be a successful aesthetic plastic surgeon, one has to become the patient’s lifelong aesthetic provider. From non-invasive procedures to surgery, our journey begins together.
