Labiaplasty Procedure
A labiaplasty is a procedure that decrease the size of the labia minora by removing excess skin and making it more symmetrical. It can be performed on its own or in combination with other plastic surgery procedures.
This is an outpatient procedure, usually completed in 1-2 hours under local anesthesia. Discreet incisions are placed in natural creases and folds of the labia, while excess skin is removed, allowing scars to heal with minimal visibility.
Labiaplasty Recovery
Common post-operative symptoms following a labiaplasty are swelling and discomfort which are mostly gone by the first week, and completely gone by six weeks. Occasionally an inflatable donut cushion is a useful tool to make sitting more comfortable after a labiaplasty. Sexual activity is not allowed for six weeks following your surgery. For some patients, sexual sensation will be improved without the extra skin. Dr. Chung will help you manage your discomfort by prescribing pain medicine and will advise you with post-operative care to ensure natural and effective results, as well as a quick recovery.
